Garrett Detector Warranty Across Africa — What's Covered, What Isn't

Real warranty cover, not the “shipped from US, good luck” kind. Here’s exactly what’s covered when you buy from Garrett Africa.

The 2-year limited warranty

• Covered: manufacturing defects in control box, coils, and headphones
• Not covered: water immersion beyond IP rating, drop damage, battery wear after 12 months, third-party modifications
• Coverage starts: day of delivery (not date of manufacture)

Claim process

1. WhatsApp +254 114 701 703 with your order number and a 30-second video showing the fault
2. We diagnose remotely first — 80% of “faults” are settings issues we can fix in chat
3. If genuinely faulty: courier back to Nairobi at our cost (Kenya), or to your nearest Garrett Africa office (Zambia, Tanzania)
4. Repair or replacement within 7-14 days for in-warranty units

Why this matters

If you buy a detector from a grey-market reseller, an Alibaba clone, or an unverified eBay seller, none of this exists. The unit dies in month 4 and you have a KES 690,000 paperweight.

Out-of-warranty service

After the 2-year window, we still service Garrett units — coil repair, control box repair, software updates. Diagnostic fee 5,000 KES, then quote.
